Artist’s Statement:
This drawing represents another meaningful step forward in my growing collection of ski hill artwork. Schweitzer holds a special place as one of Idaho’s most iconic ski resorts, and adding it to my series allowed me to explore a new landscape while staying true to the energy and culture that make skiing so special.
 
I’ve always followed one personal rule: I only draw places I’ve actually been. Spending time at Schweitzer and taking in its unique atmosphere—its vast runs, quiet tree lines, and incredible sense of openness—inspired this piece. I wanted to capture the smooth motion of the skier, the scale of the mountain, and that feeling of being fully immersed in winter, where everything slows down except your movement through the snow.
 
This artwork is part of a larger vision I’m continuing to build: drawing every ski hill in America. Each piece is a tribute to the mountains where people gather for adventure, challenge, and connection. Schweitzer is another important stop on that journey, and I’m proud to share this drawing as part of a collection that celebrates the places that make winter unforgettable.
